F: Faces: Limitations

on

My eyes are mere windows

With which I watch the world,

My face is but a mirror,

Behind which I hide my soul.

Charm me not into believing

That I am anything more than that

Let my dreams not become bigger

Than something I am not.

Treat me kindly, still

Lest I shatter into pieces

Jagged edges burying

Into your neoprene soul.

Take me as I am, if you can

Complicated yet true

All my failings, all my doubts

Too prevaricated to construe.

yes, but not to everybody…. everyone cannot take it! Guess what I am saying is that sometimes we have to hide our deepest selves for those we love.

    So beautifully written Ipsita.

But hey, you hide your soul beneath a mirror and ask to be accepted as you are. You need to bare your soul too, no?

    Cheers,
