Did I tell you I love you?
Then this poem’s not for you.
Shut the door as you leave,
don’t bother to say adieu.
Did I tell you I love you?
Almost? How stupid am I! I see.
I did love you, or I think I did
till sense got a hold of me.
Did I tell you I love you?
Never? Then listen just this once, Baba
you’re the only one I held
in my heart, the only one…
the only one
I never told
that you are
my hero
always
and
forever
and I love you
more each day.
Each passing day
now that you
are no more
I know
always
and
forever
you will be
the only one.
Did I then not tell you I love you?
I did. In my every day’s madness
in every little thing we shared
in every time I reached out for you.
I never thought to tell you I love you
for when they tell me I should pray
I shut my eyes, it’s your face I see
smiling me on my way.
It’s really beautiful. It’s not always easy to speak someone else’s love language.

Lovely. A reminder too, that though we may show in our actions that we love someone, it is also important to say the words.

Oh dear. This is just sooooo heartwarming. So touching. Your words are honest and raw. And your form is unique and interesting. ❤
