One raindrop
caught on a leaf
poised at the edge
not daring to fall
not wanting to stay.
One teardrop
rolling down the face
witness to silence
and promises
made in vain.
One dewdrop
on a blade of grass
waiting to die
in the rays
of the sun.
Rain rivers
on the windscreen
as I watch
smeary red tail lights
that blink as you leave.
All drops
in the ocean
the ocean of my soul
clothing my fears
in surreal weaves..
