Poetry

atoz-theme-reveal-2016 v2

This is the first time I’m entering this blog in the April A2Z Challenge.. and it’s time for the theme reveal.

I do not write poetry

poetry writes me.

I steal it from the wind

that rustles my thoughts

from the canvas that teases

my soul

I snatch it from the morning mist

open my clenched fist

and give it wings

to fly…

I am a thief, a pauper, a rag-picker

scavenging for words to write.

So that is my theme for this blog this year. Poetry. It could be in words or a picture.. in thoughts or in a smile… come, enjoy the ride!

Wow! I loved reading your poem and related to every word. Have you read Elizabeth Gilbert’s book on creative inspiration and heard her TED talk? She explores those sort of experiences.
I have also picked up the poetry theme. I am writing a series of letters to dead poets who have inspired me over the years. I kicked off today with AA Milne.
I thought you might be interested in a post I wrote as a lead in to the theme, which is about how a living poet Nan Whitcomb inspired me. I thought you’d appreciate her work. Here’s the link. https://beyondtheflow.wordpress.com/2016/03/31/flying-with-a-living-poet/
Looking forward to following you through the challenge.

Thank you. That was the general idea..original posts. But I have just discovered I shall be travelling from 4th to 16th April! So unless I can find some magic dust in the next week, I may have to rely on other poets so see me through! Shall give due credit, of course!
